The purpose of this privacy policy is to help you understand how your personal data is collected, processed and stored when you use the Node Society application (hereinafter referred to as the "Application") and the https://www.nodesociety.com website (hereinafter referred to as the "Site").

We collect your personal data in order to allow you to create an account, and to identify you when using our Application and/or the Site.

The legal basis for processing this data is the contract entered into upon your acceptance of our general terms and conditions of use at the time of registration.
We collect your personal data in order to improve and optimise our Application, for example, by studying your behaviour during your visit and drawing conclusions in order to make changes in terms of ergonomics and user experience.

The legal basis for processing this data is based on our legitimate interest in improving the user experience of our visitors and members.

3. RECIPIENTS OF PERSONAL DATA

Your personal data will only be accessible to authorised persons, for purposes strictly necessary for their respective tasks. As such, data may be communicated to the following persons:

  • The following Company staff will have access to your personal data: customer service, support service, and technical assistance.
  • Your personal data may also be communicated, if necessary, to the police (on judicial requisition) or to any person legally authorised to receive this information (by a court order).

4. HOW WILL YOUR PERSONAL DATA BE HOSTED?

We take care to safeguard personal data in an adequate and appropriate manner and have taken the necessary precautions to maintain, and to ensure that our subcontractors maintain, the security and confidentiality of personal data, and in particular prevent such data from being distorted, damaged, or communicated to unauthorised persons. All personal data collected are hosted in France.

5. STORAGE PERIOD FOR THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

All personal data will be destroyed immediately upon deletion of your user account. Your personal data will also be destroyed if you have not logged into your user account for a period of more than one (1) year.

However, your data may be archived on separate databases to enable us to meet our legal obligations for a period not exceeding five (5) years from the date of archiving.

6. COOKIES AND TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES

The Application and/or the Site may automatically collect standard information about Users through cookies in order to identify visitors and improve the user experience.

Information collected indirectly may be used to monitor the volume, type and configuration of traffic using the Application and/or the Site, in order to enhance its design and layout and for other administrative and planning purposes, and more generally to improve the service offered by the Application and/or the Site.

Cookies also enable us to collect and analyse statistics such as the number of visits, unique visitors and page views, or to produce other aggregate statistics on the activities of the Application and/or the Site. For this purpose, the Google Analytics cookie is used for audience analysis. Google may therefore also place cookies on Users' devices when they access the Site and/or the Application.

Users can choose to disable cookies. Your browser can also be configured to report cookies that are stored on your computer and ask you whether to accept them or not. Users can then accept or refuse cookies on a case-by-case basis, or systematically refuse cookies.

However, please note that such settings may alter access conditions to content and services requiring the use of cookies. If the browser is configured to refuse all cookies, the User will not be able to enjoy some of the services offered.

7. EXERCISE OF LEGAL RIGHTS

In accordance with the European personal data protection regulations, you have the following rights:

  • A right of access, allowing you at any time to know whether your personal data are being processed by our services and if they are, to have access to such personal data and to the information required by law concerning the methods of processing of such data;
  • A right to rectification allowing you to request that any inaccuracies concerning your personal data be corrected as soon as possible;
  • A right to erasure, allowing you to request that your personal data be erased as soon as possible if (i) their retention is no longer necessary for the purposes for which they were collected; (ii) you oppose processing and therefore wish such data to be erased; (iii) data has been subject to unlawful processing; (iv) data must be erased in order to comply with a legal obligation which is provided for either by European Union law or by French law;
  • A right to restrict the processing of your personal data (i) during the period allowing the accuracy of such data to be verified, where you dispute the accuracy of personal data collected; (ii) where it has been established that processing has been non-compliant, and you prefer the restriction of the processing to the complete erasure of the data; (iii) where personal data are no longer necessary for the purposes of processing but are still necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal rights; (iv) where you have objected to processing, and you want processing to be restricted for the period enabling it to be verified in order to establish whether the legitimate reason invoked is justified;
